Economics has insulated itself from history, society, politics, philosophy,  The result is it has lost leverage as it became a fig leaf of academic respectability on top of a process that siphoned wealth toward the few and to colonialism, slavey, big wars and difficult living conditions.

Economics could be recalled to making the world work for all. Economics as earth management integrating humans and society into nature.

The word was put together in classical Greece to name the process of managing estates/eco - home. nomos, law, procedure. Economics could become  the guide to  earth society management to a a better life.
