2454. Economics and corporations

Economics exists in a world mostly created by corporations. The original American colonies were created as corporations as was much else, but economists don’t read this history. At first corporations were created by state charter to carry out state purposes. The erosion of that idea - carrying out a socially defined purpose, happened slowly but we see the problem f corporations without restraints..

A good book id by John. P. Davis in 1897, Corporations, in two volumes. There are several copies at Amazon of vol 1. I can’t find vol 2.
