Notice how most invitations to spirituality leave the current society and its institutions untouched, as if we can be saner without changes. There is a tsunami of many books, blogs and blessings about the practice of spirituality. Here is the problem. if it is true that you can’y be conscious outside the cosmology/philosophy of the particular society we live in, then the effort to spirituality has to fail in this society. Deeper changes in the way we live and think and organize ourselves are needed and may be provoked by the breakdown we are going though.
