2578.Trapped in logic, can we move to a new logic?
There is logic we need to deal with. It is:
We have global problems but no global governance. The directions of social evolution is to fill that gap. Hence world governance.
So, is there an alternative to this logic?
A shift to care rather than competition. This means something like a religious view about the value of caring and framing in something like a view of the sacredness of the world. A model might be Christianity and the overcoming the Roman Empire, or Confucius moving to ritual in the context of what was called the waring states period. It needs to happen fast and near universal. If everyone, nearly, has shifted from traditional culture to consumer competitive culture, maybe there is an opening.A new world as the best consumer product to be advertised (think of Guy DeBord’s. The Society of the Spectacle).
Any other candidates?
(All innovation moves atoms and bits and that requires energy which implies more co2.)
The history of humanity is Hunter gatherers, through innovation controlled by elites for their own benefit, getting us to the current historical moment. and our conundrum.
