I wonder who is talking to the US military about a response. I think now there's nothing less that will do. The core idea of the republic is res publica, the public, not the private thing.

Yeah, I've begun to think along the same lines, Douglass. And as a pacifist and continuing conscientious objector (served my two years, '69-'71), I regret that my heart may no longer be leading my path. BB in VA
