We face a near-certain collapse from climate. We also face almost as certain a catastrophe with nuclear war. The drivers of both are deeply linked: the greed of late capitalism which extracts wealth from earth and humans and operates in a culture of power. Love and a culture of respect and negotiation are not in the mindset of most of the current set of leaders. This context of forces makes it very hard to know what to do. The cohesion necessary for survival and collective action is broken apart into a mixture of cold-heartedness and the hot entropy of broken relationships. There are two views: making a larger economy focused on profit and making a smaller economy focused on wisdom about what is good for people.
