AI is forcing awareness about unemployment. The approaches taken might be useful models in the general downsizing of bureaucracies, and the resulting unemployment. Is this a top down or a middle out process? It seems only fair and humane if a soft landing is provided for those who lose out. The idea of not working has its charm, but it requires compensatory income or some equivalent. The search for an equivalent is underway in many countries, usually at the level of nonprofits and other organizations that lack leverage .Upscaling the compensatory equivalence while down scaling the bureaucracies is critical to avoid a destructive disorganized revolt.but given the number of people involved and the weakness of government structures, we will have to work hard to prevent a catastrophe.
