Several people were angry at me for even mentioning engineering. I said, in the previous post 3023 that an engineering mindset was missing, not that it should replace my normal pragmatic humanist, intuitive world nature systems framing approach. In the most organic worldview, things still have to add up. New age thinking, sometimes along the lines of “Let’s all think only positive thoughts” is just too weak. Again this morning, in a fairly coherent article, I came across, “When we replace all the cars with EVs we will be halfway to solving the climate problem.” The imagination in this kind of thinking seems to stop at the analytic edge of the problem and proceed no further. It would be good to give up that habit. Climate efforts must use many lines of thought and many methods because it is all still very experimental and new thoughts must be allowed to emerge.

:boom:! All of our efforts “must use many lines of thought and many methods” if we are to seriously think for ourselves.
