Gardenworld is food, shelter and, additionally, aesthetics, all to have a goal beyond survival
There are three main divisions of structures in society: political, economic, and social. We have let economics dominate our actions and understanding. Most approaches to cooling climate heating are economic - which leads to a default to profit-making proposals. The need for politics to achieve those goals is rarely discussed and the image of the society that might emerge is very schematic, usually just a short list: justice, democracy, equity, race, gender, and the global south.
We do very little in understanding politics beyond left-right anti-Trump thinking. Few know for example the difference between democracy and a republic. The Jefferson et al group that did the US Constitution were dedicated readers of the broader history.
The result is our sense of the goal for coping with climate change is thin, pale, etiolated.* And not very motivating since it seems to be just abstract. Gardenwrodl is an approach that stresses gardens and shelter as a studio for play and art along with the essentials of survival. If the future looks like a place we might be drawn to live in, all will go better.
Great word, describes leaves that have not had enough sun, developed pale color and holes.
