re: climate, we are having conversations along two paths, growing the economy, and how to deal with climate, each making proposals that make the other path worse. The number of people who grasp that we must accept loses in each - cut in economics- and the way we live daily-is very small.
Obviously we need leadership at this metalevel and we are not getting it

There's no way out of civilization right now; it's just going to crash. I think the best we can do is carve out as much space as we can (i.e., 10,000+ acre tracts of land) and start iterating on humanity 2.0 in them.
I'm planning to create a non-profit that creates "eden" spaces --- giant nature preserves in which small bands of humans will get to live in after winning a one-way ticket out of civilization.
