Material vs spiritual: we are facing the wrong challenges.

Most conversations about climate end with a discussion of technical means to “solve’ the problem. What is left out is any discussion of the social side, and discussion of politics, society, the spirit of the matter. I have come to believe that the answer to climate will be cultural responses, (see Toynbee’ s total work)) is which will be on top of, above, material things and their science (including quantum fields and a cosmology that tries to start with nohing). I have relied most on the works of Schmachtenberger, Hagges, and Michaux and, till recently, left Toynbee on the shelf. I next will take on Pitrim Sirokin’s. Social and Cultural Dynamics. The three thinkers and close followers have done commendable job of breaking through silos to integrated thinking about physical systems. Accepting their research we can be freed up to take on the social and cultural quagmire we are in with its etiolated ideas and overly while narrowly ambitious simplifications.
