New window on human nature

Playing with ideas. I have been struggling with what to write if I impose the condition that it should be helpful. My normal approach to this has failed but what has emerged is it new perspective on an old question. Mankind is up against itself with climate change. We created this problem, and it probably will kill us. But along the way, we get a new window on our own nature.

We can form models of reality but we cannot engineer or metaphorize enough to use those models to re-organize the parts of reality we can touch. We have pictures of reality that are bigger than we can handle or manipulate –. Maybe it comes down to we cannot talk with each other at the level of solutions, but only at the level of defining the problems. Climate change and an unjust deployment of our wealth are two examples. we seem to understand these two problems, but can’t solve them.

Free associating, Perhaps the three-body problem from physics fits in here. Another example is sex, where our culture uses our sexuality to control us rather than pleasure us. We have never come up with a good path. Chaotic with three bodies. Earth, atmosphere, humanity.
