2393. Provocation:green investment capture.

We are stuck with a finance- centric approach to climate heating, which means economic opportunity that pays interest on  innovation owned by the current oligarchs. Their view is that greening is a great opportunity for investment. The problem is that this will continue the centralizing of profit and politics in narrow hands. The result will be a destructive but understandable cynicism by the many. Change is pitched to investors and entrepreneurs. Project Syndicate is doing a conference with this approach.. "sustainable investment." Green investment means transferring wealth from the industrial-oil to a green economy with the same rich benefitting and in control.

The alternative is a change of culture from competition of firms and countries to innovative thinking on welfare and quality of life for all, starting with those hurt by the necessary changes. The rich will try  to precent this option. The result will be social conflict while leaders will emerge trying to manage the process toward an outcome that deals with climate and justice at the same time. Very challenging.
