Review of approaches

I am for a few days in Bangkok so filing in with a Review.

I have been and will continue exploring the remote possibility that leverage can still be found that would bring climate warming to a halt while leaving intact enough capacity to also reduce existing co2 and feed and house some of us. Long shot.

I start with the facts that CO 2 is still increasing because of increased business activityThat means the temperature will continue to increase. But this is true even if there is no new co2 because current CO2 will continue to trap new heat

Moreover, other issues will plague us. Ocean rise and acidification, polar ice melting, health issues including massive heat death, infectious diseases moving from the quarter, and starvation. We had an economy that could support 8 billion but we are losing it fast as we lose access to the fossil fuel that supported it. Social unrest and war will be triggered. Water, soil, and climate suitable for food are reducing. But horrible is the loss of animal and plant life.

I have been exploring the possibility that larger social units than governments , civilizations and cultures, could be mobilized with sufficient leverage to drastically cut CO2 production.

Also looking at art. We need a Dante, Shakespeare, Homer or maybe T.S.Eliot, or

Picasso’s Guernica. But it has to be us. Psychologically writing poems or painting are calming, even if we think this ends badly.
