Social contract missing
People rely on jobs for income. Business relies on activity for profit,
This has worked in relative harmony with an implicit social contract but all jobs have become targets of computer programmers programming to replace people who then have no source of income while the business has an increasing profit. The sophistication of machines that can search records, compose articles, plow fields and make cars is extraordinary and moving rapidly through society. There is no new implicit nor explicit social contract between displaced people and society. This is rapidly undercutting faith in society. This is not a national but largely a global issue, but the nations must deal with t or face even more populist resentment. How to do this while doping with climate change is unknown.
