Most climate discussions are about the physical facts. This comes down to physical causes, such as greenhouse trapping, and physical responses such as solar panels. The boundary between nature and engineering should be moderated by the social structures of society. Not easy because currently the approach to climate is mediated by business and government, but not to the benefit of society. So it is not just a question of social engagement but what kind of social engagement in climate management
But what is striking is the lack of discussion of social factors that need to play out in the next few decades - or sooner. Here is a preliminary list of social factors that need as much discussion and care as the physical issues.
Education: What contribution should education make to the capacity of citizens and professionals
law: the contribution of law to correct things like coal and oil production. Since the resulting CO2/methane pollutes the environment of the rest of us, we should be able to make laws for serious corrections.
