Three paths

  • Continue as we are as long as possible

  • Turn on hedonism. (including violence)

  • Try a major shift everywhere to stop co2 along with related problems

The first two are clear, the third very unlikely. All three will be tried simultaneously.

The third requires high tech and Gardenworld

The third  is unlikely because we have woven such a tight fabric of activity, each branch of which serves the narrow interest of some part of humanity, that we cannot move to a new perspective and new activity or change at scale outside narrow silos. Human thought, marvelous as it is, cannot break out of narrow concerns.

We are thus a new example of Enrico Fermi’s  paradox, that there are no remaining thoughtful species in the universe because they all have the capacity to be clever rather than moral and self destruct before they can arrive here. Remember, all human activity creates CO2.

Amazing how long it has taken me to say this.

Philosophers, poets – it is time to unsheathe.

The third path is try collective change where you are. There is no everywhere. No one lives there
