What kind of culture?

We are replacing skills with automation. Very few people any longer have skills that depend upon hand-eye coordination such as furniture makers, musicians, painters, home cooking and gardeners. There are only 24 hours in a day. At the end of the day, how would you like to have spent the time? Pushing buttons and reading screens and handling a steering wheel? Or walking, humming, chatting with a friend or spouse, using your hands to shape the world? It just might be the day you spent with skills is more satisfying than a day spent with buttons.

Compare a good poem or a news column written by a computer with human wrirten. What are the gains and losses between the two? This issue will become central to the extent that tech continues to develop.
