Very few are aware of the major trends already happening. The parts already happening on the earth are avoided by societies. Deforestation. flood, food, migrations. the rapid decline of food production. Let’s look at \a plausible path that will need to be further detailed. Here is a sequence that leads to and perhaps through Gardenworld/
Crisis -Food crisis leads to people gathering in the street.
Lifeboats- Resources are gathered in a lifeboat mentality, and gathering resources are dispersed to centers small enough to interact with maybe 100 people.
Security - Relative security is achieved and some schemas of organization are chosen or emerge,
Gardenworld - This is where Gardenworld starts, with attractive patterns of stockpiling and distributing, integrated with methods chosen to provide shelter, Spaces will be created for children. Land is mapped out for food production
Gardenworld achieved is recognized as a frame for continuous experimentation in education, medicine, and strategic management. including landscaping and the arts.
Discussion
It is important to have something like Gardenworld as a goal, however wrecked we are, and a plausible path to get there. “Without a vision, the people are lost."
Much larger lifeboats are possible, especially in more urban areas. But that city population, based on lack of food and fantasies about the countryside, is likely to have fled.
The tendency of old claims of property to try and reassert themselves, making needed changes more difficult to midwife.
The questions of security will need to be faced and might prove impossible, since there is no arrangement possible to feed all the people, especially if we include skilled migrants who have more experience of dealing with security and food growing. The future we will get is hidden especially since the atmosphere is continuing to get hotter based on gases already present and recovering the old or making a new system would take loss of energy we have probably lost in the breakdown, What about tools, cooking, and clothes? I highly recommend The Knowledge by Lewis Dartnell where he discusses straightforwardly what we might lose and how we might regain somw of it.

DEPAVE
The movement has been spearheaded by a voluntary, non-profit group, Depave, based in Portland, Oregon, which started as a neighbourhood initiative in 2008.
Depave is now recognized as an influential organisation whose activity has been reproduced in many cities across the United States and Canada, as well as in Australia and the UK, with representatives from several other countries attending Depave courses.
New York urban planner, Mike Lydon, who coined the term of ‘Tactical Urbanism’, and a group of other ‘young urbanists’ who compiled the open source publication ‘Tactical Urbanism: Short-term Action, Long-term Change’ in 2011, subsequently released a second, expanded edition, to include another 12 tactics, including depaving – “a Portland-born volunteer project to improve storm water treatment by removing unneeded driveways and concrete ground cover”.
