Relationships between classes

There is a strong desire from the new voices, to have increased quality and quantity of relationships. What are we talking about? Plato says

“And philosophers tell us, Callicles, that communion and friendship, and orderliness and temperance and justice bind together heaven and earth and gods and men, and that this universe is therefore called Cosmos or order, not disorder or misrule.¹”

Our own relationships are more utilitarian, especially the relations between classes. The most common relationship we have now it's probably in the family. The second category is employer and employee. Or manager with staff. The restless wishes are a long way from where we are. The contemporary home with separate bedrooms provides the container for our individual self to hold our private possessions. Much of our lives can be squeezed into a small screen. We are pathetic, having created a world about which we are so ambivalent.
