the challenge is also institutional. Because all the institutions like banks, govt, corporates, etc are oriented towards growth without which the whole system will collapse. If we restrict economy to just essentials, there would be default on loans, banks would succumb, governments would lose their public revenue (no profit no tax revenue) leading them to ultimately default on their debts. Now the shifts. required to prevent this are too radical and the mechanism not very carefully detailed out yet. So we are at the cusp of paradigm shift but paralysed in the liminal space not knowing how to navigate this challenge. Meanwhile, communities that are slowly becoming aware are starting to do what they can locally but there's no full escape from the mainstream system because ultimately the agency of resources (money) lies with banks and the wealthy.

so , I ask, what is the challenge? I see that institutions hold on to the current path make a change difficult, but what kind of change are we actually looking for?
